strange little parts...
I am trying to track down a couple of those little parts-that-drive-you-crazy....
Any info on Porsche part number or sources appreciated. A) The 4 little plastic pieces that go thru the front Targa bar seal (on a 78 911SC) B) The spring metal clip that secures the seat release cable into the lever on the 78 SC seats (mine is now somewhere DEEP into the seat cushion and my kids think me odd for holding the seat in the air and making strange contortions..not to mention bad words!) Need to be more specific. The four plastic pieces you are referring to are either 1) the four cross-head plastic oversize screws on the front of the Targa bar, mid-level window or 2) the four pins, two to a side, one on each side of the pin from the Targa top into the Targa bar proper. These (#2) hold the seals to the 'bar.
Reply from Darren concerning the four cross-head screws I am looking for: As I do not own a Targa, and am unable to locate these Targa bar items on the factory microfiche, my suggestion would be to call your local Porsche Automobile Sales Parts Department and ask them for their part numbers, or if they can't find them, to possibly fax you copies from their microfiche PET system as it is much more clear and easy to read than the standard microfiche.
