Cool How many of you used 912 bodies?

Since my car is a '68 912 with '74 2.7S engine, I was wondering how many of you used 912 bodies for your projects like I did, and what engines you put into it. Also, did you change the look of the car? Mine still looks in all aspects like a 912, badge included, the difference only becomes apparent when I start the car.

Do you read Excellence? There was an article a year or two back about this guy that took this 912 that had burned and cleaned it up, then turned into this extremely mean race car. It was gorgeous.

Let's not forget Mr. Zimmerman's car...seen at Cambria last year. A '69 912, lightened and hopped up a bit. Maybe Jack or somebody could post a pic? You know, I'll call anybody who drives a street car weighing five pounds per horsepower MISTER, yes I will!

We did two conversions: One became our race car that went from D Production 2.0 six to a full on 935 single turbo 650 hp with 935 type bodywork and extensive cage. Talk about building a ship in a bottle!
The other was a sleeper- 68 totally stock looking beige coupe with steel wheels , hubcaps, a euro 3.0 liter with short geared 915. Would totally surprise 930 and Mustang 5.slow owners from lite to lite- what a ride!!

pvj911? Cool looking ride! But Jack must be asleep...I'm terrible at posting photos...but click here for a peek at the engine in Kurt Zimmerman's '69 912. http://members.rennlist.com/jackolsen/DCP_0065.jpg What turned me on about this car? If it was driving next to you? First glance? You'd think...yep, just a '69 912...nothing to give away what was really there, unless you can pick up on turbo brakes & 911R wheels on the roll...Of course, the sound..that's a dead giveaway. Hard to hide that.
