Factory targa top owners help!!
I'm in need of a little help from you US owners of the factory Targa top. I'm wondering if one of you would be so gracious as to make a paper template. What I would like is for one of you to take a sheet of paper large enough to lay on your top trace and cut an exact match of your top and mail it to me. I'm in the process of making us a tops that is less weight, stronger, and paintable; NO pebble finish. With this template I hope to cut out a piece of material that I can use to lay up a fiberglass replica of the factory part. This will be a mock up so I can move one step closer in making my tops.
If your willing to help, I'll give a discount on your top IF the prototype is worthy of resale through Pelican. The paper I have in mind to use can be purchased from Home Depot or Lowe's and is sold in the paint section. Its sold by the roll and is brown in color and should be wide enough. Though any good quality paper will work, no Christmas wrapping please ![]() Thanks for your help, Scott PM me for mailing address |

Hey Scott, I have a Saratoga (what ^ is referring to I believe). I'd be happy to try and meet you for lunch or something some day and let you make a tracing of it (assuming we can do it w/o harming the top of course).
send me an email at traviskeedy at gmail dot com and we can get together I work in Fairhope, live in Saraland Travis

BTW, this idea has been done in several different fashions, I think the most marketable would be one similar to what is offered on the W. coast by a company w/ Sun in it's name that uses shadows
![]() It has the frame build in and is a bolt on and go application, light and strong. The ones requiring you to butcher up a folding frame seem to me too much for most to bother with. Where it seems that offering falls short is customer service, make one nicer than that at the same or less $ and get Wayne on-board and I think a flood of Targa owners that bring up this idea/topic CONSTANTLY would be happy to send you $. just my $0.02
