Guess this paint color....or if you know it
Just need a little help. I love this color for a repaint but I just can't seem to find anything OEM that looks right. Was this a factory color? This car looks stock but slate grey doesn't look like it.

It could be the later color "Slate Gray Metallic" which looks a lot like modern Seal Gray, etc. The original Steve McQueen Slate Gray was a solid color, non-metallic.

Looks a bit like my car, Venetian Blue. Kind of a gunmetal grey color. I think it looks grey, but my artistic friends universally call it blue. I find it a bit difficult to photograph and have the color represented well/honestly in 2-dimensional form. Here are a couple different lighting conditions.

My car seems a little bluer than the slantnose you depicted. Perhaps slate grey is the color you're looking for. |
That second to last photo is the only one I have ever seen that made a Diamond Blue Metallic car look blue. :)

^That's not diamond blue, it's venetian blue.
And I don't think the car in the OP is venetian blue either. It's one of the grays. |
Stone grey metallic. I had an 89 same color, the slant nose same era...

That explains why it looks blue! :) |

Based on the pictures I have seen here and on the web, the car in the first post is too dark to be Stone Grey Metallic.

BMW has a metallic paint color called Steel Gray which is very close to that, but looks like one of the earlier posts has the exact color.

If it has olive green interior I would say it looks like Granite Green Metallic (very much like seal grey)
