SC High Idle or Mixture or Other ?

This weekend I changed the spark plugs and wires. Before the car would warmup at 1800 and settle at about 1000.
Now that I have change the plugs and wires, it warms up at 2200 and settles around 1800. It was 30 in Dallas this morning. Could this be the mixture or idle speed or did I knock something off?

Thanks,
Tom

Cool High Idle

Tom,

Check the 12 volt plug on the AAR on the right (passenger) side of the engine. If it is not plugged in, the valve won't close properly and you will get a fast idle until there is enough heat from the block to cause the bi-metallic spring to unwind and close
the valve.

or

You might have had a bad plug(s) or wire(s) that had been compensated for by advancing the timing. Also, make sure that the vacuum retard (the one showing vacuum at idle) is plugged into the right (retard) side of the advance unit.

Good luck
