Plugging Early CIS Ports

I searched but could not find anything on this topic.

I have a 73.5 2.4T CIS motor that I am going to switch to carbs. How do I plug the CIS ports in the heads? I removed the plastic tubes and there is a threaded port that sticks through the shroud. Does this port that I see unscrew out of the heads? Is there a plug on the market for this purpose?

TIA,
Kev

When I ran webers on my 73.5 I had the local engine builder make these. I gave him an injector and he made six plugs to those dimensions, with a threaded hole in the end so I could remove them when needed. I also modified the carb intake manifold to fit around the plugs so I could easily return it to cis. I am currently rebuilding the original engine and returning it to cis so I am glad I did. Cost me about $75.

Send the heads to Ollies and have him do it. Don't remember price but pretty cheap; kind of got lost in the noise of a valve job. Probably it can be done without pulling the heads, like Ed says above, but I have no experience with that.

Perhaps you won't be needing those and like to recoup some of the cost?

Let me know if you wanna unload those.
