Need Help for 2.7 Distributor

:confused:I have a 1974 911 2.7 Carrera US SPECs K-Jetronic. The distributor needs rebuild. It goes up down a bit and also sideways. I also have a nice BOSCH distributor from a 2.7 RS engine (0 231 184 004).
I wonder whether I can replace the one on the motor with the RS distributor or use parts to fix the on one the engine. Please let me know whether this is possible or please recommend where to send the distributor for rebuild/repair.

Do a search using "jerry woods" or call them Jerry Woods Enterprises 408-369- nine six zero seven

BTW do not mess with the 2.7 RS one.
Not sure if it would work with your motor. Others will chime in.

The K jetronic distributors have a very mild curve to prevent detonation.

The RS curve would be too aggressive unless you have access to very good fuel. I would not recommend using the RS for your application.

I rebuild distributors for many shops here in the states and Canada.

Burn-Bros
That's what I thought, but did not want to put foot in mouth.
When funds dictate, I might contact you, as I'm running a 2.4 dizzy in my 2.7 S cammed motor.

Did the Jerry Woods rebuild on mine. Running 30deg full advance on the timing and 1.8% CO. Runs like a top fuel dragster, love it!

Hi Gino,

The Jetronic systems were engineered to run relatively lean for emissions and fuel consumption. Carburetor /MFI type curves can be too aggressive.

I have a nice modified RS curve for carbureted engines as well as hybrid distributors for the 2.0-2.2 distributors that I can customize to any number of curves.

The distributors to use if you do not have are 0 231 184 xxx as these are the best overall design, exhibit little wear, very curvable.

The 0 231 169 xxx distributors are less than spectacular, and the curve can only be mildly tweaked. They seem to suffer more wear in the advance mechanisms.
