Does anyone have any experience with a "authority" chip. I saw an ad for this chip that fits at 84-87 911, which he said is guarenteed to work and improve performance. Let me know what you think. Thanks

I have an AUTOthority chip on my 86. It was installed by a PO so I can't say anything about a "difference". It's all I've known.
You can prolly get some info here. Randy

I have an Auto Authority chip with a cat bypass and GHL exhaust and love it. You will be able to tell the difference but not a huge difference with just changing the chip (Mainly the rev limiter and some low end torque). To maximize the chip do the exhaust as well – big difference to stock. Make sure the chip is set up properly. Hope this helps

I've got one that was installed with the MFA over ten years ago. I sent it back to be reprogrammed because of some detonation I was experiencing during the hottest days of summer while stuck in traffic. They changed the programming and sent it back. No cost and works fine. I'm happy.

Strup, go to the bottom of this page and find the "Forum Jump" list. Scroll to the "private messages" link near the top of the list. You should be able to check them there.

My chip from Authority works great. It has also passed it's last several Cal smog checks with it installed. Nick
