911 SC Headlight Switch

Any tips for removing the dash headlight switch. I have tried using circlip pliers on the small holes, but no luck. Apparently someone over-tightened the retaining piece.

Thanks
Josh

Unless the PO glued the retaining disc into the dash it needs to be rotated to remove the switch. Maybe try using needle nose pliers to get some extra leverage. (Not to be a smarta$$ but righty-tighty, left-loosey.)
They are widely available so if you fark it up, a new or used one can be had.

I believe I used the tip of an awl in one of the small holes on the plastic disc. Make sure you hold the body of the switch from behind with your hand so it doesn't want to rotate.

Josh, I found that circlip pliers had too much flex in the tips to get much purchase on the threaded retainer; for me, bent-tip needle nose pliers work great. Much more robust and allows you to reef on the retainer a little more (works on the mirror switch in the door cap, too).
