Park City in a 911 SC -- VIDEO!

Hey everybody,

It's warming up in Utah, and I decided to take a little cruise into park city for the night. I have a new GoPro camera so I got bits of footage here and there. I threw two clips together for your viewing pleasure. I don't exactly have my hair on fire in either clip, but there is some good engine note to be heard during acceleration! Let me know what you think.

Love it! I wish I had a decent stretch of road to drive on...all I've got are endless blocks of stop signs and loads of potholes. Never leaving first gear gets kinda old.

Great sound!

Hey Whitey,
What's your exhaust set up. Sounds more than stock.
If it ever stops raining and snowing around here (norcal), I've got a few similar roads to run my 82sc on.
Thanks for the post,
Terry

I was there last week. That road up to the ski jumps would be a blast in a 911. The water crossing the road from the snow melt would add a "challenge".

Based upon the shift points and rpm sound, Annie should be mad if she's the hall monitor. You need to have your pass! (foot stomp)

I'm sure the trip was quite safe, however. That is a great quality video with both car and scenery. Thanks, because I've spent worse money than on a GoPro, and I've been thinking about one.

Hey Sumner, get your dad and lets go to the Moab Intermountain Rally over Memorial Day weekend. He could drive is car, you in the SC and Me in my 80 SC Targa.

I drove up Provo Canyon a bit yesterday, passed a cop doing about 75 in the 55.

midnight -- Thanks!

mnewport -- Thanks. There are a lot of good roads around Utah, but winter does a number on them most years so you have to be careful watching for potholes, rocks, runoff, etc...

Terry -- The exhaust is 100% stock! It sounds great imo. I would like a little more volume for these type of runs, but I will be driving the car quite a bit during the summer, so the quiet is nice around town too.

VaSteve -- It was fun, and I'd like to go up again with a bit more speed, but there were several people going up and down that day (mostly not in the video since I wasn't speeding around other cars) so I was a bit shy of the corners. I'd actually like to head up east canyon and the cottonwoods in a few weeks from now. It should be a gorgeous drive when spring gets into full season.

shadetree -- I love my goPro. I have the 960, with the auto suction cup mount. Some of the better money I've spent lately. You'll love it.

zimmer -- Haha you should see here every once in a while in her m3! I'm not the only one with high shift points The great thing about an older 911 is you can really lay into them for a bit before they get too far above the speed limit. Honestly I never got over 90 in Parley's, and was even passed on several occasions. My supra on the other hand is the scary car that gets up to scary speeds in tiny amounts of time. This is actually the most I've pushed the porsche since I bought it. I'll blame that on the presence of a camera.

ix & kramer -- Thanks!

Rob -- He mentioned Moab to me a while back. Other than the heat, it sounds like a fun trip! I just hope the AC is still working then. I will try to plan something out. I'm working in haptics research up here at the U this summer so I'll be pretty tied up, but I imagine those that I'm working with will want some time off for memorial as well. I'll keep you informed.
I need to head through provo canyon sometime this spring. I'll go down through PC and heber. That's one of my favorite Utah drives during the 2 weeks of greenery we get here in Utah

Oh and I forgot that I took several photos at the top that day. I'll edit one into my OP.
