Question about Center Caps?
 

I have the typical Fuchs on my '78 911SC, with the polished rim and black center. My center caps are also black. I've seen pictures of 911's with Fuchs that had a polished center cap to match the rim. Are my black center caps "silver" underneath? I figured I'd ask before doing something I might regret.......

They are aluminum, therefore silver(when polished). They will also corrode in a salty environment where the steel clips(if so equiped, there are at least 2 styles) are riveted to the Al. cap.

I have polished rims, pedal (petals?) with black deep-set and color painted polished caps.

I also have black caps (no porsche color) that I can take pics of on my polished rims, if your interested?
