Does the barrel turn round with the key?

Yes it does. I can manually lock the door from the passenger side and unlock them (I cannot lock it from the driver side; I think by design Porsche will not allow you to lock the door avoiding to leave the keys inside).

Manually locking the doors is not a problem and unlocking them, I can do it with the keys. The light works in the console, but I cannot lock the loors with the key or the console.

Reading other post, it points out to be the central locking. I am trying to find it. Reading I found is that is located in the trunk on the passenger side; other people comment that is under the dash. I have no idea how it looks and what I am looking for.

I think this is the part number 911.618.113.01. Searching on ebay I have an idea how it looks, but no idea where it is.

Thanks

The CLS computer is located on the passenger side of the car under the dash in the trunk area. I think I'd start with checking your micro switch operation before spending the money on the control module. I don't recall the exact points to check but I did figure out my micro switch was bad using an ohm meter and turning the key while checking the points that were supposed to close. I had a good working micro switch on my passenger side to check against luckily.

Hi Cabmando, I think that that I found the problem. I just bought the car and since I got it the locks were not working. I wasn't able to find the Central locking (CL) and today I follow the cables and I think I found the connector, but there is not CL.

Do you have a picture of yours? I have some cables that are not attach to anything and some others that are missing from the connector.

Thanks.

Your driver side door will or should lock fine from the inside with the door closed. That's what took me by surprise when I was messing with my door locks. I could lock my passenger side door just fine (it was closed) but trying to lock by hand the driver side (while open) it wouldn't work. Close it and BAM it works. Open it again and no go.
I hope I got that all right. It's still early and I haven't had my first cup of coffee.

It is nice to get home and find that the CL that you bought online has arrived. and it was great sensation to put in place connect the battery, turn the key and magic the locks where going up and down. Thanks to Cabmando for all his help.

Glad you got yours fixed. It makes troubleshooting easier when you realize the control module isn't there :) It's good that you put in the control and things worked. It could have gotten more interesting (read costly) had it not.

I reattached the lock sensors and put the door handles on. Prior to removal, everything worked perfectly.

***. pass side sensor clip is broken and did not snap on, i wrapped electrical take so it IS secure and i can hear it responding.

this is what’s happening:

1- Both doors will unlock simultaneously from either side with key.

2- doors will NOT LOCK either door with keys, not 1 door or both simultaneously.

3- when ignition is on and doors are locked center console button will unlock them. but WILL NOT lock them.
4- when ignition is off and doors are unlocked, pushing the console lock button, door locks make a sound as if they are trying to lock but doors don’t lock
5- when ignition is off and doors are locked, pressing the center console lock button, doors doesn’t make a sound ...nothing!

could it be the broken clip on passenger side sensor?...even though Im getting some sounds from it?

do i have the handles on wrong?
