Porsche Crest Just joined...

Hi everyone - I just joined up and it is so great to see all of the folks who love Porsches come together here. As a kid I would visit the local dealership and grab all of the marketing materials I could carry to display in my room. My dad imported a 928S from Germany back when I was in high school and driving that beast sealed the deal for me. I found my low mileage beauty on Ebay and just snapped I guess... before I knew it I was driving her home. Not like me to be so impulsive but I got lucky I guess.

Welcome - I'm a relative newby too. I have a black Targa also ('78). My story is similar to yours but I fell in love with my Uncle's two 930 Turbos. Never got that vision out of my head.

Welcome,

I am new here too. Similar story, my father got a 912 from the factory, still remember my first ride in it as a three year old. The car is mine now, but recently purchased an 88 3.2.

I see you had a R1150R. I have an R1100R, with parabellum screen. It has been hard charging and very reliable for a decade now.

Cheers! yaz

Hey Yaz- I knew a girl back in college w/ a 914- fun car. No really - I mean just the car. I actually really miss my 1150R and while the big Harley is so comfy on long hauls I may actually defect back to my German motorrad roots. I agree - It is a great bike and bulletproof.

Thanks for the welcome - I guess I don't have the IT all figured out here - I put all the pics in the garage... can't wait for the top to come off and the sun to shine.

Hey, Where do you live? Looks like FL or CA? I had two Harleys before the BMW, but honestly, got tired of reliability issues. I also have a suzuki dual sport DR650 that has been getting a lot more use : ) Like a kid again off road....

oh, its a 912 not 914.....

Were you overseas as a kid?

Today is Targa off kid of day and stuck working (imagine that).

I know what you mean about learning. I have yet to do proper intro because have not gotten any good pics of car nor taken time to figure out how to post....

I'm up in Boston actually where it is still pretty cold... I haven't had any issues w/ the Harley - I was told that they really improved mfg. in the past decade and make a solid product now. I bought the Road King new in 2007 and it starts every Spring and goes just fine. You can't dive into the corners like w/ the BMW and that is probably what I miss most but the HD is a different experience as you know. I think I need two bikes but I'm out of room with the 911.

Enjoy the GA sun - from your desk
