CIS Mistry solved :)
I Rebuilt the engine in my 80 3.0 SC Euro last summer. I replaced just about everything you can with new parts.....It ran great but I had a terrible cold start issue. I replaced the WUR with a rebuilt one from Tony (Boyt99sc) and the car runs perfect!!! I'm a happy camper! Anyway, jut wanted to share :)

Excellent! Well done.

so did you send in your old one to have it rebuilt? Just curious... Will Tony rebuild one?
|
Hello,
I just bought one from him then sent in the old one. I think he will also rebuild your old one if you send it in. I was happy with his communication and the rebuilt one I got from him looked new :) Alan |
Tell me more, please! Was this as simple as removing the old one and installing the new one, or not? Special tools, or anything, required? I ask for the obvious reason - my car also has a pretty serious cold-start problem that I would dearly like to solve.
Thanks - 5string |
Hello,
Yup as far as removing the old WUR is easy. I did the fuel control pressure checks. Having said that. I always got a different reading. Heck I was probably doing the test wrong?? Oh well, I just decided what the heck everything else on the engine is new. Might as well get a new WUR too. I also, did vacuum checks and ignition checks. Those were all ok. The only thing I could point to was either the WUR or the AAV. Glad I got the WUR. Like I said it runs like a new car. Hope this helps :) Alan |
