Frozen Screw for Rear Rotor Head Screw
Hey Fellas,
Stuck. Literally. Both of my right rear per PAG "Head Screws" are frozen, soaked in PB blaster, tried heat, tried hammering on them. No Go ![]() Does anyone have a technique on removing frozen screws in particular the rear rotors? Except drilling them out or chiseling the head off??? TIA, Jim

Harbor Freight has a nice impact screwdriver with 4 bits that will get them out.

I tried that with my Screw Drive Set exchangeable set and sledge, I guess it needs to be heavier like yours.
Hey I like your SST to hold up the caliper, I used my rage and spring plates for mine ![]() Jim

The driver turns when you hit it, you will see when you pic one up.

oooh, Thanks PabloX, Cgarr & Dad
![]() So that impact tool actually turns the screw when you hit the tool? That is ingenious!

One of the many tools I have purchased to work on the 911. Actually, I have used it on a couple of other jobs as well so it's worth having in the toolbox.

I have a hammer impact. I've found that one whack in tighten mode, then switch to lefty loosey....

I don't even try a standards screwdriver on those screws anymore. I just get the impact screwdriver, and if it won't turn with normal force, then I get out the hammer. But the impact screwdriver makes a good driver.
The Harbor Freight one has a sort of motorcycle grip, and it's thick so you can turn it with a lot of force just using your forearms. |

+1 The impact driver worked great for me. This is exactly why I bought it.

Exactly. The one I have can be turned to operate in either direction.

Update: Got the HB Tool. Worked like a Charm on the first try.
Caveat: no instructions so make sure it is torquing in the correct direction. ![]() Thank Fellas!
