First gear is tough
I am having a hard time getting into first gear. I need to jam it in with a lot of force. I took it out for a spin today and I know I am going to have to deal with this. I suspect it should glide in but it definetly needs some attention. Any suggestions?

mines a ba@&*£rd to get in as well. not as bad as yours sounds, but i have to wait to dead stop before engaging.
apart from a rebuild, check adjustments of clutch cable, and gear linkage. i know my clutch is out of adjustment - i just put up with it at the moment!! the dickster ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Hey there are a lot of complaints about the 915 transmission in this area. Chances are that your 1st gear syncro is gone. So to fix it you will need to rebuild. But like Richard said ensure you check the adjustments on everything. How old is your clutch?
