Maxmimum tire width Question for my OEM Turbo Twist? Help!

Hi everyone,

I have some 10Jx18 ET62 Rear OE Turbo twist rims and I'd like to know what is the widest tire that I can safely install on these rims. Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you for your time. I currently have 265/35/ZR18's and I'd like to go with 275's if possible.

What year/model car are these on? 275s will fit a 10 inch wheel but may not fit the suspension, depending on the vehicle.

Thank you Wayne for your reply and time. My car is an 86 911 Carrera wide body, I have 265's on their right now with some spacers and I have about 1.25 inches of clearance this is why I wanted to buyer a wider tire. Thanks again, I read some articles where guys were running up to 295's with these rims. I'll stay at 275 for my ride.

275's should fit your car without a problem. Just be sure to check the inboard oil lines on the passenger side.

And post some pics with the new shoes!!:D

I agree about clearance on the oil lines, I measured it and it should be able to take it with about 1 inches clearance remaining. Thank you sir.

the a main concerns w/ tire fitment are
1) does it fit the wheel
2) does it fit the chassis
3) what are the additional effects besides fit,

you can fit 295/3x on a 10x18 wheel w/o any issue
you can fit a 295/3x in a 930 wheel well w/o any issue as long as the net wheel ET is ok
3) here is where the issues may be lurking. a 295/30 x 18 will be ~25" tall, this is going to be fine but a 295/35 x18 @ ~ 26.1" will be too tall for most purposes. Not all tire lines come in all tire sizes, so you will need to evaluate the tire availability for both the rear and for a matching front

as long as you use a 285/30 or 295/30 rear w/ a 235/35 or 245/35 front you will be ok

Thank you Bill, I appreciate your time and input. The data was very informative.
Best Regards, Alex
