Dansk RSR style silencer question
Greetings,
I have done a lot of research on postings here regarding 2 out exhaust systems and droning. I have not however been able to find any information that specifically addresses the Dansk RSR style; centered, 2 out design (10-1010-160-M350). Am I correct in assuming that the drone effect, while still present, would be lessened due to the exhaust being expelled from the center of the car rather than from each side? I would also suspect the excessive noise complaints often cited (setting off car alarms) from 70mm or 84mm outs behind either rear wheel would also be less due to the same rational of the outs being more central, combined with a smaller discharge 2 x 50mm vs 2 x 70 or 84mm. Am I missing anything? Regards, |
I ran a twin 50MM on my 81 SC with SSIs. I don't recall it droning, and it was much quieter than my previous 2 in 2 out.
Didn't seem to be as strong on the top end though with the euro engine. |
Oh yeah. It wasn't exactly quiet. Quieter.

I appreciate your reply; I'm not looking for whisper quiet, I just don't want to create a lot of unnecessary attention.

Dansk is generally quiet , my own experience.
Just a bit more louder than the factory one. Just my opinion. |
Here's a pic of my Dansk, Patrick Motorsports version. I wouldn't say there is a drone or resonance. I also wouldn't say it's quiet. ;) No car alarm is safe in a parking garage, that's for sure.
