Case Number for a 1976 911S
I am removing the thermal reactors on my 1976 911S and can now see the numbers clearly on the engine case. There is no engine number on the pillar next to the fan housing which indicates that this is a replacement engine. The engine has 901.101.101.7R on the driver side and 901.101.102.7R on the passenger side. Can anyone tell me which engine this is based on these numbers? Thanks.

So, both 2.4 (73.5) and 2.7 (74-77) motors on the same case?

With a replacement case you could even have a 2.0 engine. However, a good hint as to what is inside is what is attached on the outside; MFI, CIS, carbs, and so on. Chances are, with thermal reactors, the internals came from the original 2.7, but only a teardown can confirm that.
