Humorous 911 on EBay

Let's see, what exactly are they selling???

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1804909639

It's a 71E Targa, but with turbo bodywork and the targa bar cut off,
but they don't have the top.
And there is over $6K worth of professional body work, plus a paint job, but it needs a repaint.
The engine was replaced with a '76 2.7 (renouned for being the best of the breed!) with 15K miles since a rebuild, but it needs work.
Oh, and it needs assembly! But it ran at one time (haven't they all???)

Lest you are concerned about what you are buying, pictures are included (prior to the car being disassembled) to prove that yes, it once was a functioning Porsche 911.

So let me see if I get this, someone took a perfectly good '71 911E, took it all apart, put in a less exciting motor that doesn't work, put on a different body that needs to be redone and never finished any of it. And they want something more then $4800 to clean out their garage

I guess some people will just muck with something until its broke.

The car is a "non-op" by DMV standards-- I thought all cars by 71 had windshield frame chassis numbers. Maybe the rivets fell off when the top was being chopped off....

not to mention you're gonna shell out 2500+ for a top (ask me how I know)!

then there's "Five (5) speed transmission in good condition. just needs linkage adjustment." - ah yes, the old 'maybe I can adjust the linkage and get my 915 to work again' fantasy.

"Have some pieces of domestic black carpeting. Not all pieces included" - WTF? If you're not going to include it, why bring it up?

"Remember, This is a Project car that needs work" yes - project with a capital "P"!

"A $500 non-refundable deposit is required" - save yourself some trouble and just sell it for $500!
