Color Combinations
 

Hi all, as this is my first post excuse me if the question has been asked before. I recently sold my modified 95 Mustang Gt when found the 911 Cabriolet that i now own. My questions realtes to the interior color.

The exterior is black and teh interior is a red ( Ibeilve Can-Can??). It is in good shape, so I don't need to replace it, I was just curious if there were production numbers anywhere that listed the numbers of cars produced in a certain year by body style and color etc...

Being new I really do enjoy reading all of the posts so I also wanted to give a quick thanks..

Welcome to The Board. While there is nothing wrong with a '95 Mustang GT, it sounds like you sure traded up! I don't know the answer to your question.

The book: "Porsche 911 Red Book" by Patrick Paternie is probably the best resource for what you are after (and seems to be a board favorite). It doesn't list how many of each color were made, but does give production numbers for the different body styles, and also provides info such as engine/tranny/chassis serial numbers, paint codes, interior colors, options, etc.. for all `65 to `99 911's.

Has anyone seen very many of the red interiored 911's?

And, yes the p-car is much more fun to drive!

There was a 80-something turbo traded locally about a year or two ago that was Black with lipstick red interior. It also had red wheel centres.

I've described the car to a few people and they recoiled in horror....I probably would have too.. if the car were just described to me but...

This car was an absolute STUNNER.

Your car sounds nice...post some pics...and consider painting the wheel centres red to match the interior.

<i>Original Porsche 911</i> is good for available colors and options as well, with lots of pretty pictures - a useful coffee-table book. Red interiors are actually common, but more with silver exteriors than black From what I've read, this is author Peter Morgan's favorite color combo, and his current Boxster has it. Nice to look at, but I'd never own it - be like driving inside steak tartare or something...
