Scheduling a PPI!

Well, almost a year to the day that I was going to have a PPI done on this car, which an unfortunate incident at work put a stop to, tomorrow, I'm scheduling it for one! It is actually the car that was used for many of the projects in Wayne's 101 projects book.

It's an 82 SC. So, it was rebuilt by Wayne. It's hard to tell exactly how many miles are on the rebuild due to a speedo swap (180mph), somewhere between 35 and 50k. It has all the updates and a Carrera cooler up front. Turbo tie rods. 7 & 8 inch Fuchs. Brakes have been gone thru. It's had some syncro work. Current owner takes good care of it and it is maintained by John Walker. I've driven it twice. Zero smoke. Maybe a teeny, tiny spot of oil on the floor from what I could tell. It doesn't get driven much now but I plan to drive it often. Whether it'll fit in under Haggerty's 3500 mile limit we'll have to see. Probably not! :)

Anyway, Chris's German Auto is going to do it. They'll let me hang out in the shop while they go thru it. Takes about 2 hours and sounds pretty comprehensive. I'm sure some things will come up but I'm hoping its a solid car. Between a conscientious owner, maintenance by John and a PPI by Chris's, I'm hoping all the bases are covered.

Wish me luck!

If it's been maintained by JW i'd just talk to him about it. If he says it's a good one it's a good one.

Hopefully going in the 12th or 13th. Will have to see if they have any openings.

I'm with Hagerty, & they do not have a 3500 mile limit. I have my car insured at 5000 miles per year. You just state the miles you intend to drive & they price the policy accordingly.

Hmm. That's not what their rep told me over the phone. I'll have to double check that.

I take it Hagerty is insurance?

can I ask the rates? (you can PM) I am using AmEx and the rates are pretty low with no restrictions

It was like $350/yr including roadside service.
