cigg lighter removal

I have two simple questions, I think

first, I have 82sc I am replacing right center dash overlay. I got new piece on (I removed heater controls partially to slip new piece on,removed brake/seatbelt switch, removed defogger, and fog switches) but I cant figure out how to remove cigg lighter, or at least the trim ring. please help

second, I need to replace fuel pump. I went to remove and I can turn fuel pump while holding bango nut, but the electrical contacts hit the fuel line when trying to unscrew pump. I cant get a wrench in on the check valve because wrenches are too big and dont fit. Probably a simple answer, but I am stumped

For the cigarette lighter:
-remove the dash clock, this will give you access to the back of the lighter (you need small hands)
- put your fingers inside the lighter recess, once you've removed the lighter itself, and by blocking the socket with your two fingers, turn. The socket is screwed that way with its backing. Easy when you start. You need to hold it from behind.
