New car
Got a call from an old buddy. His buddy just inherited a"71" 911.
It has been sitting for 12 (or so) years and he was inquiring as to what they should do with it. He said it was in very nice condition and had the rare "oil filler on the rear fender".......er....I said "DON"T SELL IT!!" ![]() It has a CIS 3.0L in it and was parked with a "fuel problem". I passed on a few things and told him to come to this forum and get more advice than they could ever want. I didn't get a VIN #.

Yeah, time to search any number of phrases to find what guys do after a car has sat for years....lots of advice to be had regarding fuel (including the tank and lines), oil, brakes, hoses, alt. belt, etc., etc...been done by many guys with success, following the many helpful (and correct) recommendations.

Very cool! Too bad it doesn't have the original engine, though a 3.0 is a lot of fun.
BTW if the oil filler is in the RR fender, it's a '72. |
