Denver mechanic help needed
I am new to denver and am having car trouble. The battery in my newer 911 is dead, real dead, cant open the bonnet dead; and the car hasn't moved in a couple of months. Can any of you recommend a mechanic open Saturday that I can get the car to and have the battery and fluids replaced at?
I have zero interest in paying the dealer to do this work as i know they wont warranty the battery. TIA for the help. |
Several good indy shops in town, but none open Saturday that I know of. Stevinson Imports service dept. is open Saturday but that's a dealer.

Go buy a charger and charge it till Monday then take it in.

I am in Arvada. If you want I can help you get the battery going.

First of all, what year of car, and where are you?
There's LOTS of Pelicans in Denver, and you might be right down the street, and someone can help you get the car running, so you at least don't have to pay for a tow to the shop. If you are in a 1999 or newer car, here is the procedure to get your bonnet open even if you have a dead battery. Guys thank you for all of the responses the car is a newer one and is still sitting, as the weekend got away from me.
Am I safe in assuming the 996 procedure works on a 997? Edit: You'll all have to put up with my fear of tackling newer cars which results in dumb questions I am used to fiddling with my old Rangie which was likely designed to run on coal 50 years ago. |
I imagine it's the same.

absinthe,
You will find some Pelicans as experienced stokers yet knowledgeable about a ‘newer 911’. What is the status? Where are you? I’m somewhat near I-25 and Yale in SE Denver. PM if you want. Best, Grady |
Huge props to Storz, they are coming to my house to deal with this.
Yes, it has taken me this long to deal with it. |

Storz... Bob and Mike are great guys... |
Headed back to Storz next week for an annual service and thought I'd bump this thread for their great service.

You can't do any better than Storz Garage, IMO.
