Oil on the air intake flap on an 83 SC?

My car was having a hot-start issue yesterday, and while investigating the problem I found the air-intake flap inside my CIS airbox had oil resting inside the "valley" of the bent arm that lifts the flapper. It was enough oil to cover the tip of my finger. There was no oil or film of any kind coating the airbox, only pooled inside the arm. It was definitely motor oil. I took pictures but I'm at work and can't post them. What might have caused this, over filling the oil during the last change? And is this a cause for concern?

High oil level in the tank and/or a steep driveway. Oil can get sucked into the intake.

Typically overfilling.... 1.) if to the max mark....try just shy of the mid mark and 2.) not following the drill *precisely* as to how to measure:
- car on level surface
- rpm in the 800-900 range ( definately not 1100 rpm, for example)
- up to operating temp... approx 190 degF.... typ. 8 o'clock+ , on the temp gauge.

A lot of blow by (bad rings) would also cause this.

That's part of the air lubrication system. Vaccuum fed in from the oil tank.

Oil in my intake manifold: Carrera (pics)

Similar to the other thread but different. I don't have oil in my air intake, but further down the line I seem to have oil entering at the intake boot. There's a hose connecting from the oil filler throat to the intake boot. This is where I suspect the oil is coming from. I found oil pooled at the bottom of my manifolds. What is this hose for?

BTW, I don't overfill my oil.

Sorry. I meant to start a new thread and ended up adding to this one. Didn't mean to hijack.
