Need some 930 transmission help
John Walker, Matt, Monson, any of you guys out there? I just finished up my first 930 trans overhaul. I have done a bunch of 915's and a couple of 901's so this is not my first walk in the park but I have run into a snag. Test drove today, and it shifts perfectly, no grinding , slides into gear real nice, but.... It spits it right out of second gear. I know exactly what the problem is, but don't know how to fix it.
I did replace the dog teeth, and slider for 2nd gear, but the dog teeth that I purchased are physically different than the piece I removed. They are the same exact size and dimensions except that the replacement gear teeth have raised little nubs on the outside diameter of the gear teeth. I first bought aftermarket gear teeth, but they did not seem to fall into the slider all the way. I then ordered oem, and they were identical to the aftermarket. These little external teeth will not let the slider engage completely onto the gearset. I cannot seem to find the gear teeth I need anywhere. Every replacement piece I have looked at is the same. What am I missing? I will post up some pictures of the dog teeth later today I did speak with one trans pro before I reassembled and he reassured me that these gear teeth are correct, and that they use them all the time, but ....
