1970 911 T restoration ideas??? Please help

hello I am new to the forum, and appreciate everyone's professional input. I just purchased a 1970 911t, It has the correct 1970 t engine but not matching numbers. The car has had some unfortunate updating at some point. It was converted to a short nose at some point and someone put 73 rs style rear flares. They are butt welded and appear well. The previous owner got rid of the original seats and installed newer 911 seats. I have done a number of Classic Restorations and I am a licensed mechanic so I have some experience I just want to head in the right direction with the car.

I believe I need to return it to a long hood and I guess for authenticity the rear quarters should be returned to original. The original colour is Blue Metalic 84. Due to the amount of original pieces (hood, fenders, front rear bumpers, seats, rear quarters,) I do not want to invest more than the car will be worth. It is a passion but I am also looking for investment returns.

Thanks so much for your help and advice.

Jason

Cars are not good investments. If you are looking to flip the car, you have already lost the largest value by not having numbers matching. What do you want to do with the car? Is it a daily driver? Is it for a collection? What do you want it to look like? Sounds like you want the look of a long hood, so go for it. If you like the rear flares, keep them.
