1970 911T Boot latch

Hi any thoughts on adjustment / repair of front bootlid latch mechanisms ? Last year mine was working fine and all of a sudden this year it keeps popping open. The safety catch holds it but it is unerving to say the least. I first adjusted the top half side o side to attempt to get more grab on the pin. Not much help there. I'd hit a bump and pop. Next I adjusted the up / down of the pin in the top half. I tightened it up so it holds the ood tighter but it can still pop. Last I released the set screw on the cable and moved th half moon as far out as it goes and held it with a nail in the small hole thru the fixture and re-tightened the set screw. it may be holding now but the gap on the passenger side of the lid is too wide and it feels like the spring pressure is trying to push the lid open and twisting it.

Free bump as I would like to know as well how to get the hood to close more w/o it popping open.

I got mine to close tighter but then won't open

Porsche made a clever and simple mechanism to make sure that, in case of a broken cable, the boot still can be opened. Just make sure the cable is aligned so the half moon is at it's max. Also some grease in the bottom part helps.

Nope, a spring pulls the cresent moon away. Just disconnect the cable and you'll see what I mean. If the moon is stuck (lack of grease) it might still lock so don't close it until it all moves smoothly.
