Door Latch Pull Rod Orientation

This weekend I had my driver's side door panel off to make some window adjustments (due to rain coming in). The pull rod that connects the door latch handle to the mechanism inside the door came off. I can't find any photos showing it's proper orientation. Does it go into the mechanism from the top or the bottom?

This is from the Bentley manual but I think it's shown upside down.

I've always put them in from the top.
Let me know if you don't find one closer. I have them.

That's what I thought.

Yes, I need a new rod, the old one is bent. So let me know if you have one.

Plus I need some of the plastic clips that hold it on there. (But I want those new.)

Good idea on new. If it's just bent, bend it back. Happens all the time

I tried that, but it got more messed up. So if you have a good one, I'd be interested.

Just bend one out of a rod. Pretty simple. I needed one about a sixteenth shorter then stock so a couple of minutes with some plain steel rod and problem solved.
