steering rack

I'm contemplating replacing the steering rack and upgrading to turbo tierods on my '82SC. Does anyone know of a tech article that would prepare/guide me through the rack replacement. Pelicans has a good tech article on the tierods but I can't find anything on the rack replacement. Is this a BIG job. TIA

Not really a big job. Just tight quarters. Disconnect the steering shaft from inside the trunk. Take your tierods loose at the wheel. Remove cover from bottom. Drop your axle beam down and remove the rack W/tie rods attached. It's easier to remove and replace them with the rack out. You should be able to do this job in 4 hours, or 6 if you clean and detail parts. Good luck, Duane
