Suspension "system" FS in a week or so..

A heads up for regulars that don't normally frequent the Parts Forum. I'm updating the race suspension in my 78 SC and will have FS:

31mm Sanders rear TB set
Custom Valved for 31mm Bilstein Sport shocks

23mm Sanders front TB set
Custom valved for 23mm Bilstein front inserts

27mm(?I think?) Smart Racing sway bar (bar only)

Shocks only have 1.5 seasons on them. Valving is spec'd out by Dan Jacobs, let's just say they work..

Will come up with a price for the whole setup after I get it out/replaced and if not spoken for will update this when it goes on the Parts FS forum.

I can vouch for anything Dan Jacobs has worked on! he takes great care of my car and did the suspension. I think you ought to give Gary a break. Nice of him to give folks a heads up. that is some nice stuff he is offering up.

To be fair, if everyone gave the courtesy of a heads up when they had something for sale, there would be no need for a for sale forum. Its not a slight at the value you've no doubt added to these forums. Maybe adding this heads up to a thread about your planned updates would make for a more suitable tech forum thread? Good luck with your upgrades

never said anything about quality of his stuff, and it does not matter. i am sure he has helped a lot of people, but i just think it is tacky to post FS (and he did not even post a price!) items in the tech forum. i guess the tech forum "FS" listings sre for the really important people. for someone that must be a smart guy and has been around as long as he has to not follow the rules, sets a bad example for others, besides, where does it end? if he posts FS items in the tech forum, why shouldnt others do it too?

and to call me a twit? perhaps you should evaluate yourself before calling someone else names.
i am having the same problem with an 11 year old. even though they do something against the rules, when someone calls them on it, they cant "man up" and admit they were wrong, instead they get mad and start calling people names.
if you have kids, i hope you arent teaching them by example.

i am surprised at the number of people that support him. now i see why people leave this forum.

well put ohsnap.

when wayne listed his car in the tech forum i did not think that was a good example either, but it IS his forum and he can do what he wants.

How's this - keep your admonishments to your 11 year old until they make you a moderator here. It wasn't a trick, it wasn't anything but a heads-up to people, like me, that don't normally go to the Parts FS Forum to let them know that the stuff will be available soon. This post wasn't supposed to turn into a debate on what's appropriate and if I could I would lock/close it.

Thanks for posting here Gary. Are the TBs hollow? How much did your car weigh with this set-up? 27mm bar is huge, I'm assuming its a front?

Thanks Bill.
Front, IIRC (and it isn't being changed) is 31mm, car is 2500 lb wet..

I *assume* they are hollow, will know when I pop them out tomorrow.

To all the usual suspects here, sorry about all the drama.
To Mods - dump this thread please.

you still dont get it. this is not a "heads up" forum, its a TECH forum.

what if eveyone posted their for sale items here for those that dont go to the for sale forum? besides, there is a reason people dont go to the for sale forum, THEY ARE NOT LOOKING TO BUY ANYTHING"

in a sense, we are all moderators, thats why there is a ! in the bottom left cornor.
