on a 70 901 tranny, what type of fluid, oil, should I put in? Is there a normal type that can be bought at "autozone" that I can use?

Yes, any major brand, such as Valvoline, Castrol, Quaker State can be use. Straight SAE 90, or 75W-90, or even 75W-140 can be used.
