Power window relay a buzzin'
 

A new to me '85 Carrera has a power window relay that buzzes while the car is off. If I turn the key to start, it shuts off, similar to other relays I assume to preserve the juice. The relay noise is not a constant one, but, more of a buzz, buzz, pattern. Normal? The relay is warm to the touch, and I replaced it with really really expensively new one, and it does the same thing. The windows can be activated while the car is not running as well. Not sure if this is a 911 feature, or just for my car! Thanks, Dave.

Can you clarify "buzzes while the car is off"? Do you mean that the key is not in the ignition and no one in the car, like it is buzzing all the time it isn't being used? I'm not great with electrical components, but that would definitely not be correct.

The windows can be activated after the car is shut off until either door is opened.
