930 Brakes

How the heck do you identify front from rear 930 brake calipers. One is numbered 930.352.541.1r (Brembo side) 930.352.542.1r (Porsche side) the other caliper is 930.352.542.1r (Brembo) and 930.352.541.1r (Porsche). The first one looks to be off the left side (driver) and the other right (pass). All of the calipers have an "85" in a circle below and to the right of the Brembos and Porsches. Am I correct in assuming they are '85s?
Thanks in advance. Allen

Allen,

I'm sure one of the resident brake experts will eventually jump in and clarify this, but in the meantime if you do a search you will most likely fall into one of Bill Verburg's brake charts and it should tell you everything you need to know !

Cheers !
Phil

Fronts will have much larger pistons than the rears. And to tell left from right, when mounted the bleeder nipples will be on top.

Front calipers have 4mm wider throats than rear calipers as well as larger pistons.

Figured out the left and right and now the key to front and rear. Appreciate the help.

930 brake calipers

Looks like I have a pair of rears with the 30mm pistons. Thanks for the help.
