Jeff Fields @ Transaxle Engineering ... known them for decades ... they're better at VW stuff.

We can do your trans ... TLG Auto Porsche Service in North Hollywood, CA

TLG did a fine job of rebuilding my 901 transaxle about a year ago. Can't go wrong with Tony and Marco at TLG !

This is probably a bit insane for you - but you might consider shipping it to Gary Fairbanks on the East Coast. He rebuilt my transmission and it is PERFECT. All told I spent well under $2k for the rebuild - which I think is unbeatable. Gary is known to be one of the best - and ALL he does are the older transmissions.

I did a lot of research, expected to spend over 3k for my rebuild, and he did the job for peanuts. He even offered to fix the price at under $2k regardless of the work required - but highly recommended I take the risk. He was right.

Best of luck with your rebuild. It totally transformed my car from a shifting nightmare to smooth as butter.

I'd recommend AASE motors in Fullerton. Great work

AASE does great work, so does Marc Bixen down at Red Line (Pete Zimmermann fame) in Long Beach.

Hi There. We can help you out with a trans rebuild if it's still needed. We do a lot of VW and Porsche transaxles. Everything from vintage cars to off road buggies. I own a 911 myself. Give us a call 818-998-2739 or check out our website at Official Transaxle Engineering Home Page

Old school here. No emails just leave a message on the old answering machine. He will call back.

Great guy, great work.

Agreed; Gary is the best!

+3 on Gary. What you save on honesty and quality will blow away minor shipping incovencience.
You asked, we told. You can ignore, of course , but then why ask in the first place?
