Anybody using the Siene ultimate struts for engine lid and front trunk lid?
Just ordered mine. The struts on the rear push on the ducktail creating a gap,so I tried using just 1 and then it made it look cockeyed.Did a search and didnt see any good info.

Nippy - I'm in the same boat as you - bought a Seine strut for the engine lid (fg ducktail) because of fitment/gap issues with the gas strut.
I'm going to install this weekend but anticipate some "issues" with a/c lines on the hinge. Are you running a/c on your car? Cheers, d. |
no ac,not much of nothing besides a motor

you'll have no probs, it's a very slick, good quality product.

We were contacted about interference with the A/C line at the driver side hinge.
Here are a couple of options: 1. Install Ultimate Strut on the passenger side hinge (mock up on '84 w/AC): http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1303331860.jpg FYI, angle shown is off a bit. The metal foot of the tube normally rests in the hex-depression of the supplied replacement socket head bolt for one of the motor mount bolts. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1303331871.jpg 2. Use longer trunk version with rear mounting hardware and install thusly (special order): http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1303331768.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1303331791.jpg Hope this helps, Sherwood Seine Systems |
