window sticker reprint
How do you order a reprint of the original window sticker of your car?
|
As far as I know, you can't. The best you can do is mock up a reproduction; there are threads on this.

a friend of mine got one for his 944 as a xmas gift one year. I will have to find out from him how they got it for him
|
I talked to my dealer about this in 2007, and they said no dice. Apparently it is against the law for a manufacturer to reproduce a Monroney label.

i will let everyone know what I find out. He said it was really a neat gift when it was all framed up and everything

...think it's illegal for a Dealer or employee to do that.
Do a search, there was a guy on here last year or 2 doing that... |
Not quite sure what the "obvious" reasons are for it being illegal. The car is 29 years old! it's not like I am going to attempt to try nad pass it off as new!

The car is 29 years old! it's not like I am going to attempt to try nad pass it off as new! No, but someone unscrupulous might fake a window sticker to give a car options it never had originally - "M491" to legitimize an aftermarket widebody Carrera 3.2, for example. You'd have to be a real fool to take a window sticker at face value to support "collector" options, though - one can easily verify these through VIN checks against known production numbers or via Porsche's own COA, in some cases. Cheers, d. |
I saw that thread. I want a copy of my original though. here is what my friend got that I guess is as close as I'm going to get
Certificate of Authenticity - Owner Services - Porsche Service - Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG |
Read the post about those that have the Certificate including myself. I'm sure its a "must have" to the new Porsche owner. I ordered mine a few months after I got my 89 about 13 years ago. I think back then it was $25? and I was thoroughly unimpressed. It looks like a sheet of typing paper with your cars vin and its options listed. If it was anything like a window sticker I wouldn't of complained. It sits in a pile of stuff in my garage somewhere.

I just checked. $110:eek:
|
$100 if you're a PCA member. Big deal -a C note. I'd pay $200. I'm ordering one tomorrow.
|
Funny -this company is doing it for Chevys, pontiacs and oldsmobiles
Window Sticker Reproductions for Corvette, Chevrolet, Dodge, Oldsmobile, Plymouth, Pontiac, Buick, and Cadilac |
When I acquired my 70, I emailed the dealership that delivered the car, Pon Porsche near Amsterdam, Netherlands and included the VIN with a request for any documentation on the car. Within 2 weeks, I received an email saying that they would send me a copy of the original build sheet. The build sheet lists all options, vin, base price, and final price.
