Valve adjustment.

So now that I'm all done I wanted to recheck things.

I noticed that the head had been off at some point and tubes replaced on passenger side on my engine. Driver side hasn't been and is stock.

What I found odd is that the valves, all of them, are spot on within spec on the passenger side.

On the driver side all but the exhaust valves were within spec. Now... they weren't far out of spec. The gauge slid almost all the way in with ease, only dead smack in the middle did it bind, and a slightly thinner gauge fit inbetween. I could still grab the elephant foot and feel that there was play as there should be just like with the valves that were within spec.

Leave it be? Or re-adjust? I was considering leaving it till next oil change and getting it then. Then again... I don't want to "guess" on anything.

Obviously valves don't stay "within spec" all the time, otherwise we wouldn't have our intervals to check them. So are these acceptable?

Suggestions?

Well IMHO if you can get the feeler in the space without loosening, it's too loose. The feeler should have a minor amount of friction "tugging" on it when you move the feeler around. I find that the correct feeler is just too flimsy to stuff into the space without loosening. No doubt there will be those who will not agree. Cheers

If it's too tight, it's too tight. There should be drag on the gauge but it should fit.
