Window trim finish
Hello all,
Posted this in the 930 forum - but alot more people here. What have you found to be the best type of finish for the matte black window frames, door handle and glass insert trim to be? Epoxy urethane with a matte clear - or - a matte black powder coat? The only concern with the powder coat is the thickness - especially on the handles. What have you done and what are your recommendations? Thanks, Mark |
I had excellent results with powder coating my window trim, door trim and door handles.

Why not get it reanodized black?
|
i had some peeling of the anodizing so I used a couple of coats of black "trim paint" spray you can find at any auto parts store. it is pretty durable as it is designed for this purpose. it is not as durable as powerder coating but only costs $6.

I've used the Wurth Satin Black works well although I think powdercoating is the most durable option.
|
The Wurth paint works great, unfortunately it does not stick well to an anodized surface; I’ve tried sanding and using an adhesion promoter and still have been unsuccessful.

Powder, just find a good man, and explain what you want and to keep it thin.
Annodizing was not a option without drilling out each metal rivet that holds the window channel together, steel can not go into the tank After pics http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1303753532.jpg |
