84 front valance fitment questions

I searched but could not find anything. Will below fit an SC? Thanks in advance.

I don't see why not...I don't recall any differences in mounting, whether with fog cutouts or not.

Thanks Lar.. I wasn't sure because our host sells one for 74-83.

Yep, of course the cutouts changed for the Carreras as you know; I still don't see any diff. in fitment.

A Carrera front valence will physically fit, but:

If it has the cutouts for the the Carrera fogs (that one does not), you have to remove the SC w-washer reservoir (in the L fender) and substitute a smaller Carrera reservoir, or remove the reservoir altogether, I've been told.

Some have also said that you must relocate the SC horns also, or substitute Carrera horns, but I don't know that firsthand.

The one you show does not have the Carrera foglight openings, though. Are you sure it's a Carrera valence? Never seen that.

That's what I was just thinking! It may very well be (and probably is) a proper part for 74-83...
A reverse application, putting it onto a Carrera would be easy, I guess, since the parts you mentioned would not be in the way of such an install. I believe that is what happened, as I have not heard of such an animal "made for" a 80s Carrera either.

The late 80's (88?) club sport had a no fog light valance.

I tried to fit a late 70s no fog light valance on my 87 once. There is also a difference in the attach bracket on the late carreras. I think it was the oil cooler fan that changed the right mounting location.

That is a a Club Sport valance...or a good reproduction of one. I paid a small fortune for mine for my Carrera to get rid of the the foglight nonsense.

Not sure what your plans are but you may want to sell that (if it is an OEM clubsport) and get a specific SC or Carrera valnce.

In looking a the holes pre-drilled it looks like a clubsport.

FWIW, replacement valences (like this one, without fog light holes) from Porsche were updated to include both of the mounting brackets on the right side.

Thanks for all the info. This valance which is for sale BTW came off my 84 Carrera and I popped the question for the prospective buyer who has an SC.

Are there differences in Australian RHD cars? Gas filler and w-washer on the Left?

I've checked and I also heard that you can just move the SC reservoir a bit.

The Gas filler and washer reservoir are both on the LHS of the car (USA driver side)horns are on the RHS. The later model valance fitted straight on, the washer res only moved probably 1/2in it cannot go far as it will touch the tyre. Porsche moved as little as possible when making RHD versions the front hood and gas flap opening releases are both still on the LHS too.
