AC Removed

Removed the AC. Is there a plug that goes in the hole up front where the fan for the front AC condenser was?

I've looked but haven't located it.

While doing the Battery Area Surprise rust repair/pan replacement I removed the AC.

While I was at it I put in new MonoBalls in the front and a strut brace.

Today was the first drive since the repair and it was awesome.

Rob,

I'm not aware of any factory 'plugs or plates'. But if you got the time you could make simple
cover plates that serve as an access plates for future projects.

I just cut a small piece of sheet metal to cover the hole. Maybe some spraypaint to finish the area off.

I just fabricated an aluminium plate mounted on the underside and used the four screws from the blower to hold it in place along with a nice bead of black RTV silicone ...

Cheers!

Rob,

A/C delete is my first planned project on my recently acquired (first) Porsche. Can you outline the steps to remove the A/C? Thanks

John

Jnewman,
It was easy. First I diconnected the hoses at both ends. I removed the front and rear condensers. (note my system was totally devoid of any freon). Then I crawled underneath and removed all of the little brackets holding the hoses. Then in front I pushed the two hoses from the left front into the wheel well and then puled them to the ground. In the engine bay I pushed them all as far forward as I could then puled the from below. In the smugglers box I disconnected the hoses and pulled them down. I left the equipment in the smugglers box for now. Just in case I decide to spend the grand or so to get the AC working good.

The last thing I did was remove the compressor and mounts. Put everything in a box in the corner of my shop.
