Brake Bleeder
I just rebuilt a caliper and installed, tested it, and then came back to check up on it.
The area around the bleeder screw (not the tip) is leaking. It's not gushing out but its leaving a trail like a drop of oil running down the caliper. I did notice that the bleeder screws (which are original to the caliper) screwed in with ease with a little play until they are fully seated in the caliper. Question: Is there something I can apply to the threads to take up the play? Blue thread lock? Other option is to buy replacements or speed bleeders. Thanks! |

I would start by ordering new bleeders, and hope that is the source of the play. Thread lock is not a sealant. Speed bleeders work great, that's what is on my car. Unless you have a helper, some form of one-man tool is needed.
