86 carrera targa turn signal problem

My 86 carrera has a problem with the turn signals,only one side works, however the Hazards still work, i have checked the fuses and they are all ok.
Any ideas please?

Play with the emergency flaher in the console
The connections could just be mis behaving
I went through that for years

Unplugged everything cleaned up
Never had the problem again.

Got pulled over twice because of it

this may sound crazy, but check the lamp under your engine bonnet for a possible short to ground (earth). A bad connection there will affect signal operation at one side of our cars.
