clutch help

Hey guys. ,,,,75 911

The clutch lever pictures I have found have a couple of arms plus helper springs.

Mine has one arm that the cable end runs around and bolts through.

..No type of spring attached .Can anyone identify this for me?

My clutch appears seized, any ideas to help? thanks Ernie

clutch

Thank you for the response.

When I push the pedal it has no effect on the clutch,it won't release.

With the shifter in neutral it is out of gear and the car starts and runs.

In any gear with the clutch pedal depressed it is still in gear.

I ha,ve tried it with the cable adjusted,by the nut on the cable end, to different positions, with no effect, other than it changes the distance of the clutch pedal from the floor.

The shaft going into the tranny does rotate slightly with the arm movement
[how much should it rotate]?

I have not taken the pedal assy apart to check the pin through the shaft, but it is pulling the cable ,How much is enough?......thanks..Ernie

If your car has been sitting for a while, moisture could have stuck your clutch, What I do to to break it loose is warm it up in neutral then shut it off. Then put the shifter in reverse or first, depending on which way you can go, and start the car. Then be erratic with the gas pedal and with any luck at all it will break loose. Keep in mind that until it breaks loose, you will have to stop the engine to stop the car. Good luck.

if the car has been sitting, the disc may be stuck to the flywheel or pressure plate. adjust the cable so you have about an inch of freeplay at the top of the pedal. warm the engine so it starts readily. aim the car so it can be started in gear without hitting anything. start it in 1st gear and keep the clutch pedal to the floor and blip the throttle a few times until it frees up.
