Wiper question

Today was the 1st day I've been in heavy rain in the wife's 993 cab. I was very disappointed in the "high speed" setting of the windshield wipers. This seemed to equate to the "middle" setting on our 3.2's. Does anyone know of a retrofit high-speed motor or some sort of a mod that can be done to the 993 unit? I felt as if I was "overdriving the conditions" at 60 MPH on the Interstate.

Might want try a more effecient wiper blade. The Rain-X ones helped mine.....

I'm running those new fancy-schmancy Anco Contours. They work fine, but the wiper speed is nowhere as fast as the ones on the 3.2's (I use the RainX solution, but have not tried their new blades)

Actually an Interstate "loop" with not much traffic at all. Heavy rain, not the "pull over, it's a monsoon" type. Just saying that the 993's wiper speeds are piss-poor when compared to those of the '86's.

Get some rain-x and treat the windsheild. Not the wiper blades but the liquid stuff that you rub on and buff off like a wax. You can just about drive without wipers after you put this stuff on. A guy from Oregon might know what he's talking about when it comes to rain. Seriously....the stuff works.

Yep. Mine was treated before I got it, amazing stuff. I am surprised to hear that 993 wiper speeds are so slow. Who'd of thunk it? That rain-x lasts, too! Hope it works out.

See post #3...I HAVE applied the RainX solution to the 993. I'm just sying that the HIGH speed on the 993 is like the middle of the 3 speeds on the 3.2 I thought the newer car would have AT LEASE as good performance when it comes to something I feel is important.
