Strange metal sound..Found!

Well.. a couple week s ago running the Speed festival @ Fontana my last run session fired her up and had a definite metal to metal sound @ the same speed as the rpm's the engine was running. Got a buddy over that work's for Black Forrest and he said shut it down.
Didn't run the last session (in my car, used his faster car), we thought it could be a rocker, broken spring or tensioner failure. Worked on it last week and couldn't find any broken rockers, springs so removed drivers side chain case cover. re-hooked up oil line to tensioner and fired her up..tensioner was good, hmm??
Adjusted left bank exhaust and intake valves..all good, did a leak down on all cylinders with 2-4% leak down. Starting to really worry me????
Ran the car with clutch pedal in/out/ in gear/out of gear and sound would diminish with higher revs.
My buddy looked through the inspection plate and saw some minor scuffing as I turned it over from the crank with a wrench and as I turned it over more no scuffing... Ahhaa
Looks like an engine drop is in my future, loose pressure plate, flywheel maybe new clutch.
This will be my first drop in my car, helped a buddy a few months ago drop his when he did a clutch. But I didn't help him put in a new clutch, just a little help re-installing the engine.
I've done some searches and found some good threads. Just wanted a little info on what to think about replacing while I've got it out and some of the tools I might need or have to borrow.

It's an 911/10 1981 3.0 w headers in a race car with no air/heat/cruise ect..

Wanted to post this so someone in the Future would look through the clutch inspection plate w/mirror while turning it over w/17mm wrench at the crank, would have saved me many hours of time not tearing through the valve train/tensioner !!

Thanks for any Help, Rick
