SC/Carerra flares
I have a set of flares for sale in the classifieds. A question was asked about the torsion bar hole. Why is it different from the standard round hole? I do not know the answer. Can someone answer the question please?

The flares in the top pic are from a g50 car ('87+).
Previous to that the holes weren't open at the bottom and didn't have the covers that are missing in the picture.

Don't know the reason for the change from the little hole to those but I do know they were on the Carreras (maybe G50 is right?)
My car (75) came to me with a set of fenders looking like that on it and I've had a devil of a time dealing with the hole. The "normal" blanks are much easier to source (I've now got 2 sets ![]() I've made a hand formed plate that will do till I get a few more things sorted out and a little paintwork done. This is mostly because I like my car w/o the rockers. ![]()
