Question fuch

A 15X6J flat Fuch on the original the rim it had a 185/70x15.Tire.
The question is how wide you can go and still be in spec with a 6" wheel?

Thank You for your input.

205 would be the widest I would go. Any more than that and you would be pushing the limits of proper tire fitment. I believe the handling would suffer as well.

I see from another posting that you were asking about the widest tire that would fit your 75.

205 is about the widest you can squeeze onto a non flared 911 so that cuts the options down a lot.

My 914-6 had 165/15 Michellin ZX or something. Note, there was no aspect ratio noted on the tire, which meant that they were 75 series tires. Really really tall tires. I found that I could get a wider tire by cutting down the sidewall height. But that also made the gears really really short too. I think '75s had the same size tires on all 4 corners.

I saw 205s on a narrow body 911 in El Cerrito a few years ago. I think the guy had an SC engine in it. I bet those tires got smoked off in a real hurry.

As soon as you change from 185/70 you are out of spec. 195/65 is very close and as stated a 205/60 will work, I've used all three.
