What is the AAV and where is it.. so I can un-stick it..

please help me out ...wchouse mentioned this may be my problem for a high idle and he described al the problem's I'm having. Bil said that the AAV may be stuck .. where is this AAV and how do I un-stick it.? please help. god I have got to go buy a Bentleys manuel!!!!
